Snap a photo of any meal. AI instantly estimates calories, protein, carbs, and fat — no manual logging needed.
Photograph your plate from directly above with everything in frame for the best estimate. Add a meal hint for context, then review the calorie and macro breakdown. Not quite right? Edit the description and re-analyze, or adjust the numbers before saving.
Eat the same things often? Save any analyzed meal as a template, then re-log it in a single tap from the bookmark icon in the Analyze tab — no new photo or analysis needed, and it doesn't use your daily quota.
The History tab shows Apple-Watch-style rings for today's calories and macros against your goals, plus a monthly calendar with a dot on every day you logged. Tap any day to filter the list to just those meals.
See your calorie and macro intake charted over the last 7 or 30 days. Each week you get a summary with averages, goal-hit days and streak info — shareable as an image, and delivered as a Sunday digest if notifications are on.
Open the weekly summary to get a short, personalised coaching note generated from your own week — days logged, average calories, macro balance, goal-hit days and streak — with encouragement and one concrete tip for the week ahead.
Log at least one meal a day to build your streak — the app tracks your current and longest runs. An optional 8 PM reminder nudges you on days you haven't logged yet, so you don't break the chain.
Add friends with their 8-character invite code (in Settings → Plan) to compare streaks and stay accountable. Start group challenges — log-streak, daily-calorie-goal or consecutive-day goals — and track everyone's progress in Settings → Friends.
Add the CalorieLens widget for an at-a-glance view of today's calories, your remaining analyses and your current streak — without opening the app. Long-press the Home Screen, tap +, search “CalorieLens”, and choose the small or medium size.
Log your weight over time and watch it charted in Settings → Weight. Your body metrics also power the personalised calorie goal, and weight entries can sync to Apple Health.
Choose which nutrients to track (protein, carbs, fat) and set a daily target for each in Settings → Nutrition Tracking. Your rings and charts update to match what matters to you.
Enable optional notifications in Settings → Notifications: a daily meal-logging reminder at a time you pick, a streak-at-risk nudge, and the Sunday weekly-summary digest.
Turn on Settings → Health Sync to write your calories, protein, carbs, fat and weight to Apple Health as you log them, keeping all your wellness data in one place. CalorieLens only writes data — it never reads from Health.
CalorieLens supports Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple. Tap either button on the login screen and follow the on-screen steps. No password is created — authentication is handled entirely by Google or Apple.
Free plan: 3 analyses per day, plus up to +2 more by watching a short rewarded ad (maximum 5/day).
Standard plan ($3.99/month): 15 analyses per day with no ads.
Your quota resets at midnight in your local time zone each day.
No. Your daily limit applies only to AI photo analysis. Re-logging a saved meal, or editing an existing entry, records it instantly and does not use one of your daily analyses — so meals you eat often are effectively free to log.
Every account has a unique 8-character invite code in Settings → Plan. Share it with a friend and add each other to compare current and longest streaks. From Settings → Friends you can also start a challenge — a shared goal like logging every day, hitting your calorie target, or building a consecutive-day streak — and track everyone's progress together.
Once a week, CalorieLens generates a short, personalised note from your own data — days logged, average calories, macro balance, goal-hit days and streak — with encouragement and one practical tip. It's created from your weekly stats only and refreshes once per week; you'll find it in the weekly summary.
The AI estimates calories from the photo, so accuracy depends on lighting, angle, and how clearly all portions are visible. For best results:
You can edit the description and re-analyze, or manually adjust before saving.
After the analysis completes, review the result and tap Save & Done. You can also set a custom "Eaten At" time if you're logging a past meal before saving.
Go to Settings → Health Sync and enable the toggle. CalorieLens will write nutrition data (calories, protein, carbs, fat) and weight entries to Apple Health whenever you save them. The app does not read any data from Health.
When you reach your daily limit on the Free plan, you can watch a short rewarded ad to get +1 more analysis — up to 2 extra per day (5 total). For more, upgrade to Standard for 15 analyses per day with no ads.
Go to Settings → Plan → Upgrade to Standard. The subscription is $3.99/month, billed through the App Store. You can cancel at any time from the App Store subscription settings.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data (entries, weight logs, body metrics, streaks). Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
You can also delete individual entries from the History tab by long-pressing a row or tapping into an entry and using the trash icon.
